Opportunity Fund’s LA Event Postponed

In this moment, we are all in this together. Today, together means practicing social distancing and each of us and our organizations doing all we can to protect and care for our clients or customers, teams, family & friends, and the public health. To proactively do our part, we are postponing our upcoming 25th anniversary celebration in LA (historically known as Taste of Microfinance) from its previously scheduled date of Thursday, May 28. We have not yet set a new date, but will keep you posted as we consider the best time to safely come together and celebrate the small business community in Southern California.

As you know, it’s not just beloved events like this one being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many self-employed people, small businesses and their employees have already been profoundly affected. Opportunity Fund is proud to be part of the response to this crisis for at-risk businesses across Southern California and throughout the US. We are working with individuals, businesses, foundations, and the government to create a Small Business Relief Fund harnessing support to provide immediate relief. With your support, we will serve as a source of stability for small businesses and self-employed individuals throughout this crisis. Please consider making a gift to this fund, and sharing about it with your friends, neighbors, colleagues, and communities: www.opportunityfund.org/give2sbrelief

To learn more, Luz Urrutia, Accion Opportunity Fund’s CEO, will be hosting a webinar on Small Business and the Fund in Southern California on Wednesday, April 1 at 10 am.  More details will be sent out in the next few days. Please save the date.

Please stay safe and healthy, and thank you for being a valued partner in supporting our work today and tomorrow.
