Alma

Alma heard about the IDA program from her neighbors in the Mayfair community in San Jose. Alma enjoyed the IDA financial education classes she attended through the IDA program.  “They taught me how to save money and to get good credit.  They helped me a lot on how to buy a house and how to complete the goals I needed to buy the house.”  She saved and bought a house for her family in 2002. Through support from the Hewlett Foundation, Opportunity Fund worked with the Mayfair Neighborhood Initiative to provide IDAs to Mayfair residents.
